Originally a dairy farm, the first vines – a mixture of French and German hybrids, perfectly suited to the UK’s climate - were planted at Llanerch in 1986
Labelled as “Cariad” wines, meaning Sweetheart or Dearest in Welsh, the wines were well received and proved hugely successful, gaining many awards.
The current owners, the Davies family, purchased Llanerch Vineyard in 2010 and after extensive refurbishment, re-opened the property in June the following year.
The Vineyard is now fully operational, harvesting between 8 -12 tonnes of grapes each year and producing approximately 10,000 bottle of fine Cariad wine.
We are proud to serve Cariad wines in both our a la carte Restaurant and in the Bistro. Bottles to take away can be purchased exclusively from our Vineyard Shop.
Please contact the Vineyard if you would like to purchase Cariad Wines by the case and we will be happy to prepare your order for you
